Once an applicant has found a sponsor, he/she must bring a letter of intent to hire to the union local (this must be written on the company letterhead).

Each applicant will undergo a probationary period of not more than four months. Throughout this period, the employer, who will in turn send those evaluations to the union, will evaluate applicant (worker). Prior to the end of the probationary period, the Joint Apprenticeship Committee will interview each qualified applicant.
