WeBuild Volunteers

WEBUILD INITIATIVE

WHAT IS THE WEBUILD INITIATIVE

WeBuild is an initiative led by Construction Careers Foundation, connecting industry leaders with students through events, mentorship, and career exploration opportunities. Students attend a one-day WeBuild event designed to introduce high school students to careers in construction through engaging, hands-on activities and direct interaction with industry professionals. Following the one-day WeBuild event, students participate in a three-part Connection Series designed to deepen their understanding of career pathways and strengthen professional connections with industry mentors. About 40 students participate at each event from area high schools.

MENTOR VOLUNTEERS

Sign up HERE

Mentors play a vital role in helping students translate their interests into potential career paths. Each mentor will be paired with a small group of 2–3 high school students and asked to guide them through three sessions focused on networking and career exploration.

Throughout the series, mentors will support students as they develop a personalized Career Plan, providing insight, encouragement, and practical advice drawn from their own experiences in the industry.

Commitment:

          – Attend three in-person sessions (each one hour) held at a partner high school.
          – Participate in a pre-series virtual mentor training session to review materials, student goals, and session structure.
          – Complete brief preparation between sessions (reviewing student resumes, providing feedback, and career research as needed).
          – Complete a background check (if required by the school) prior to participation, administered through CCF.
